The combination of brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, smoked paprika and ancho chili powder will turn any steak into a powerhouse of flavor. Mix this blend of seasonings together and use half on your meat and the other half to season a side of home fries. Simply slice up a few potatoes, onions, bell peppers and fresno chili peppers making the perfect side dish to your steak.

This dry rub will also work on elk, antelope and venison steaks.

Rub Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ancho chili powder

Directions

In a bowl, combine and mix all ingredients. Season both sides of the steaks with half of the dry rub, reserving the other half for seasoning your home fries. Let meat marinade for 30 minutes to an hour before cooking to your preferred temperature.
